Мария Васильевна родилась 03 апреля 1927 г. В семье, где росла Мария, было двенадцать человек. На фронт ушли четверо братьев, а вернулись домой только двое.
Много пришлось ей испытать: и военное лихолетье, и трудные послевоенные годы. На хрупкие девичьи плечи лег тяжелый груз. Девичьи руки выполняли мужскую работу: ставили столбы, косили сено, закладывали силосные ямы… И все это во имя приближения Победы!
Мария Васильевна осуществила свою давнюю мечту – стала учителем начальных классов, окончив Сталинское педучилище. В 1946 – 47 годах она работала в школах Гурьевска, где и встретила своего будущего мужа – браковского Ивана Петровича, только что вернувшегося с фронта.
Молодые люди поженились и переехали в Горскино, где Мария Васильевна работала до 1954 года.
В 1954 году семья переехала в Сосновку, и здесь Мария Васильевна до пенсионного возраста была воспитателем в интернате. Вместе с мужем они вырастили трех дочерей и дали им образование.
Добросовестный труд Марии Васильевны был отмечен медалями: «Ветеран труда», «За доблестный труд в Великой Отечественной Войне 1941-1945-гг.», «50 лет Победы Великой Отечественной Войне 1941-1945-гг.», «60 лет Победы Великой Отечественной Войне 1941-1945-гг.».
